Man in the street 24/365
High pressure sodium lamps looks awesome in black and white. My brother is a good sport about being a photo subject, he did his best at holding still 30 seconds.
A study in tones 23/365
I love the way white linen catches light. All of the folds catch a different degree of luminosity which brings out texture. The afternoon sun pouring in through windows has always been a favorite of mine and today I was able to capture it on our shower curtain.

Kicks 22/365
Its been a very rainy October which means nice overcast light coming in through windows. It also means confinement to the indoors as far as photography goes.

Keys 21/365
More jazz at work. I focused on the piano players hands, very expressive and musical without sound.

Spillway 20/365
Took my son to Sealy's pond today to enjoy the fall foliage and throw rocks in bodies of water. I've always wanted to take a flowing water shot with a slow shutter so I tried this even though I had no tripod. I think it came out nicely!

11 Years Later 19/365
About this time 11 years ago Bill Vivona put in my hands a Pentax k1000 camera loaded with Tri-X 400 film. As I photographed the banalities in my life I snapped one of my little brother (then 11 years old) buried in leaves. It turned out wonderfully and won me a youth arts award, it was even published on the front page of their newsletter. I could not resist re-taking this picture 11 years later as an homage to where I got started.

Frozen 18/365
Frozen pipes. Just like my creativity today. I still appreciate project 365 to force me to shoot everyday, its just a bit disappointing when the end product is not what you desire.

Leaves 16/365
A wonderful warm sunny day today, nice contrast from the near winter weather I was getting used to.

Pots and Pans 15/365
Crazy refrigerant leak in the motor room, the 2nd floor filled with white hazy gas, close to 800 pounds of refrigerant. Its strange being in a completely empty commercial kitchen when you are used to it sounding like a hive.

Sax 14/365
Every Tuesday at work we have a different jazz band come and play for two hours. Its a really nice break from the satellite radio that goes on day after day.

Alas, a playground 13/365
Staying in VA with family has been great. We are set to hit the road tomorrow morning. Des was so psyched to cross the drainage ditch and find a nice playground to enjoy.

Security 12/365
At the Smithsonian Museum of American History. This is the security checkpoint to enter, its funny how they "check" a camera bag, by check I mean open the op flap, confirm that there is a camera strap, and pass it through the metal detector. Nice.

Tunnel to Virginia 11/365
On the way to a short little jump to Virginia. Its Jessica's birthday monday and we are celebrating with family! I love tunnels, they are so fun to drive through. Even though its blurry this photo captures the excitement and lights of speeding through a tunnel for me.

Brakes 10/365
Can't say I had quality time to take pictures today. I think this is neat, I like taking pictures of bicycles and gears anyways, they are full of neat geometry.

Brian 7/365
Getting this one in right on the deadline. My first week of pics! Brian is a co-worker of mine, we have many discussions about philosophy, perception, relationships and everything else worth speaking.

Dry tributary 6/365
Had a walk in the woods with Des today. He learned the word moss, he also learned how cold it is to be a passenger on a bicycle on a 50 degree (f) day. I need to get him a bandanna and mittens if this is to continue.

Afternoon Sun 5/365
Throwing rocks in a drainage area near NJT railways. There is nothing more satisfying (to a 19 month old) than rocks and hurling them into water.

Fall time flow 4/365
First day of raking leaves. Des enjoyed this very much, commanding myself and Jessica to dig if we started slacking.

Obligatory Self Portrait 3/365
Many people do a project 365 of all self portraits. I have no intention of doing that but I appreciate the "time capsule" aspect of the project so I figure I could capture my expression of lament in the second overcast day in a row. I know Henri Cartier Bresson was fond of using overcast days but I can't find the inspiration.

Contemplating the breadstick 2/365
Made some breadsticks today that Des seemed very contemplative about. They ended up serving more as a utensil for scooping hummus than for their carbohydrate value.
I enjoy square format and thought it would create an intimate moment with the breadstick.

Gone 1/365
First shot in my first project 365 endeavor. Walking home from getting fitted for a tuxedo for Bill's wedding I saw the wind thrashing around this trash can behind the strip mall. When it stopped it placed the can in the perfect spot for me to snap this one.
